MATHILAKAM BLOCK PANCHAYAT
Mathilakam Block Panchayat, comprising seven Grama Panchayats extending from Eriyad in the southernmost part to Edathiruthy in the north of Thrissur District, is the most densely populated Block Panchayat in the district. The Block is bounded by the Canoli Canal on the east, the Arabian Sea on the west, the Periyar River and Kodungallur Municipality on the south, and Thalikkulam Block Panchayat on the north. Fishing, agriculture, and animal husbandry are the primary livelihood activities of the people in the production sector.
